Punahou’s Anna Jang and Maui High’s Kelcie Kawano each shot an
opening-round 78 to take a three-stroke lead in Day 1 of the David
Ishii Foundation/HHSAA Girls Golf State Championship at the Waikoloa
Kings’ Course on the Big Island.
Punahou’s Katie Sisler is
three strokes back in third place with a score of 81, while Baldwin’s
Dayna Bersamin and Maui High’s Elyse Okada are tied four strokes behind
the leaders at 82.
The Punahou team leads the field with a comfortable 10-stroke lead at 246 over Maui High (256), followed by Waiakea (258).
The tournament concludes tomorrow, Wednesday, May 9 at the Waikoloa Kings’ Course.
