The brackets are set for the First Hawaiian Bank/HHSAA Football State Championships, which kicks off Friday, Nov. 15, and runs through Saturday, Nov. 30.
In the Division II bracket, OIA champion Roosevelt is awarded the #4 seed and will host #5 KS-Hawaii in the quarterfinal round on Saturday, Nov. 16. The winner of this game will face top-seeded KS-Maui in the semifinals. OIA runner-up Kaiser will face ILH champion and #3 seed Pac-Five in the quarterfinal round on Saturday, Nov. 16 at Edward “Skippa” Diaz Stadium on the campus of Farrington High School. Winner of this match-up advances to the semifinals and will travel to the Garden Isle to take on #2 Kauai at Vidinha Stadium.
In the Division I bracket, OIA champion Leilehua is awarded the #5 seed and will travel to the Valley Isle to take on MIL champion and #4 seed, Lahainaluna in the quarterfinal round. The winner moves on to the semifinals to face top seeded Konawaena. In the other quarterfinal, OIA runner-up Kailua will face #3 seed, Kapaa, at Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex in Kapaa. Winner will move on to face #2 Damien in the semifinal round.
In the Division I-Open bracket, OIA third place Mililani will face top-seeded Kahuku in the semifinal round on Friday, Nov. 15. Kickoff for that match is 4:00 PM. In the other semifinal match-up, OIA runner-up Campbell will take on ILH champion and #2 seed St. Louis in the late game of the doubleheader. Winners of the semifinal round will have a one-week bye before meeting in the championship game on Friday, Nov. 29 at Clarence T.C. Ching Athletic Complex on the lower campus of the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
