Seabury Hall senior Dakota Grossman becomes only the second girl in HHSAA state tournament history to earn the title of four-time state champion. Grossman dominated the field with a time of 18:17.04 – just over 35 seconds in front of the next finisher.
In the girls team competition, the Punahou girls claimed their 8th championship title in 9 years, under Coach Duncan MacDonald.
Of the 17 qualifying girls teams, four competed in Division II – Hawaii Baptist (ILH), KS-Hawaii (BIIF), Kapaa (KIF) and Seabury Hall (MIL).
KS-Hawaii earned the runner-up title with a total score of 325, ranking 13th overall.
Seabury Hall dominated the Division II field, anchored by four-time individual champ Grossman, ending with a total score of 92, and third in the overall field.
